The Shasta Regional Transportation Agency (SRTA) is looking at giving money to the Redding Area Bus Authority (RABA) for the Fiscal Year 2025/26 Low Carbon Transit Operations Program (LCTOP). The LCTOP has $497,157 to help projects that cut down on greenhouse gases and make it easier to get around. RABA wants this money for running costs, like free and cheaper bus rides and more microtransit services. Staff checked the projects and suggest giving the money. The RABA board will meet on September 21, 2026, to talk about the project requests, which need to go to Caltrans by October 30, 2026. The SRTA board is asked to approve the funds and pass Resolution 26-09, which lets the executive director handle these funds. The LCTOP program gives money to transit projects that follow certain rules, and the RABA projects fit these rules. Giving this money will help support bus services that help the community by cutting down on emissions and making it easier to get around.
