California Transportation Commission Approves Allocation of $124 Million for the Fix 5 Cascade Gateway Project in Shasta County Region

$124 million in transportation funding is being invested on Interstate 5 in Shasta County, to construct the Fix 5 Cascade Gateway project, which will improve safety, traffic operations, and goods movement along I-5 through the Redding area. This first of its kind, innovative project will improve freight connectivity between three state highway interchanges and increase safety by addressing freight conflict zones/collision clusters and significantly improve emergency operations during wildfires and snowstorms.
