The Shasta Regional Transportation Agency (SRTA) must create a Federal Transportation Improvement Program (FTIP) every two years. This program lists projects needing federal funding or regional focus. The draft Shasta 2027 FTIP was shown to the SRTA Board in June 2026. It has since been updated with a formal change, revised performance management, updated financial summaries, and small edits. The draft was open for public and partner agency review from August 21, 2026, to September 20, 2026. SRTA staff suggests the board hold a public hearing and approve the Shasta 2027 FTIP. This would allow the executive director to make changes based on feedback from approving agencies. The Shasta FTIP plans to spend $457.5 million over four years. This includes $11 million in local funds, $435 million in state funds, and $11.7 million in federal funds. The FTIP comes from many agencies working together and must be approved by SRTA for federal funds to go to regional projects. The Shasta 2027 FTIP includes rules for changes and a process for the executive director to approve formal changes.
